SIP 10th Anniversary Celebration

On April 20, 2007 we celebrated our 10th anniversary by speeches, prizes, honouring sponsors and having a lively discussion at the Toronto City Hall.

Message from the President
My fellow SIPpers, it is not a small feat that we have survived 10 years when many associations in the Internet sector were not able to sustain themselves. We are proud of our achievements in spite of no governments or private funding, the notable being the establishment of Accredited Internet Professional (AIP) program in nine different streams. Standards and Certification was the mandate of SIP and we are expanding the program with accreditation of training centres. >>>

Hi Max,
Congratulations on arranging such a well-attended meeting. I had a wonderful time getting to know your group and helping them to share ideas. I have to say that I was delighted by how helpful and approachable everyone was. From Olga giving me a "movie star greeting," to the engaging introduction Jeanette provided for me, and into the discussions I had with several audience members, you folks made me feel right at home. Laura's enthusiasm and professionalism was a welcome addition to the evening as well. All of this reflects positively on your organizing efforts, Max.

Where Is Toronto on Google Developer's Map?

Google Developer Day 2007: Toronto, Canada Think BiG!

What a coincidence! The Toronto techweek.to is coming on May 28 to June 1, 2007; mesh conference is being held in Toronto on May 30th & 31st; and Google is hosting ten Google Developer Days in their various offices around the world on 31 May.

At least we can watch live streaming webcasts from Google's Mountain View office. But who knows, maybe next year we will broadcast our own streaming webcast from Google Canada's BCE Place office?

Post Jobs and Resumes, Get SIP’s Assistance and Win

Welcome to the SIP Internet Job Board's Page

INVITATION TO POST YOUR JOBS OR RESUME
SIP Launches a Unique Job Board
The Society of Internet Professionals (SIP) has launched an Internet Job Board. The Internet jobs are no longer related to only website jobs but have overlapped with IT and telecommunication industries as more and more business and consumer applications are being delivered over the Internet platform.

SIP invites members and non-members to post their job requirements or post their resumes at no charge for an initial period of two months (ending May 1, 2007).
All postings will be eligible for a draw to win an “Internet books package” (value approximately $500, see postscript below).

In addition to the free posting, SIP will assist its members in other ways, such as:

[+] Providing Mentors
[+] Work experience or Internship
[+] Providing resources for skills upgrading
[+] Opportunity to accredit qualifications and experience to attain A.I.P. (a SIP designation)

We are pleased that this initiative is coinciding with the tenth anniversary of SIP.
The persistent expansion of the Internet in all business endeavours continues to create new professional niches and increase demand for existing skill sets. The range of Internet jobs has expanded from IT domain to human-factor engineering, marketing and social collaboration areas. Because of its value added features, I believe that SIP Job Board will meet a niche demand.

Visit the Internet Job Board & Post your jobs/resume:

Max Haroon

What is a blog?
  • A blog (weB LOG: it is a website) is a content management system: an easy way to have a great-looking, up-to-date, easy-to-use, search-engine friendly presence on the web.
How a blog is different from a website?
  • weblogs are “post-centric” -- the posting is the key unit -- rather than “page-centric,” as with more traditional websites;
  • weblogs typically link to other websites and blog postings, and many allow readers to comment on the original post, thereby allowing audience discussions.
